Modified on Thu, 29 Aug, 2024 at 3:47 PM

The electronic money transfer levy (EMTL) is a fee on electronic money transfers from N10,000 and above. A flat fee of N50 will be automatically deducted at the time of the transaction from the recipient’s account. This levy is legal, birthed from the Finance Act and the Stamp Duties Act, and regulated by the Electronic Money Transfer Levy Regulations.  As of September 1, 2024, Paga will be implementing the EMTL on applicable transactions in accordance with the Electronic Money Transfer Levy Regulations 2022.
